Waterton & Its Wildlife Tour (Morning)

Start your day with the best chance to see wildlife in action.

  • Early hours = higher wildlife activity

  • Calm, quiet atmosphere in the park

  • Cooler temps and beautiful morning light

  • A great way to ease into your day

Waterton & Its Wildlife Tour

Ready for a wild game of hide-and-seek? As we cruise through Waterton’s jaw-dropping mountain landscapes, keep your eyes peeled for the furry locals who call this place home.

With hundreds of species hanging around, you might just spot the Rockies’ A-listers: elk, bears, bighorn sheep, and bison. (Bighorn Sheep traffic jams are a real thing here, but that never gets old!) We’ll also dig into the cool science of how Waterton’s crazy climate creates a spot where the mountains quite literally crash into the prairies.

It’s an ecological mashup, and it is glorious.

What to Expect

Buckle up, buttercup, this is prime wildlife country, and anything can pop up around the next bend. As you journey through the valley, our guides will teach you how to slow down and scan the landscape like a pro (so you can finally stop confusing distant tree stumps for grizzly bears).

Every outing is a totally unscripted episode of "Wild Waterton," so the suspense is real! Along the way, you’ll discover why this ecosystem is so wonderfully weird.

This is an extraordinary transition zone where two worlds collide. Mother Nature definitely showed off here, and every turn of the road tells part of that story.

Waterton & Its Rocks Tour

Ever looked at a mountain and thought… how did this even happen? Or what gives Red Rock Canyon its vibrant red glow? And why the mountains in Waterton look so different from those in Banff?

We’ll take you beyond the “nice view” and into the story hiding in the rocks, where oceans once existed, mountains moved (yes, really), and time did some pretty wild things.

What to expect

We designed this sightseeing tour to be relaxed, immersive, and just the right amount of rock-solid fun. You’ll cruise down the scenic Red Rock Parkway in a comfortable touring vehicle, which means you can sit back, take it gneiss and easy, and let us handle the driving.

Expect frequent stops to step out, stretch your legs, and take in the landscape. We mix short, flat walks with easy-to-digest storytelling. You’ll learn exactly what gives the canyon its vibrant glow, piece together the history of shifting continents, and hear about mountains that refused to follow the rules. This tour is perfect for all fitness levels, no rock climbing required. Just bring some warm layers (mountain weather has a mind of its own) and a camera.

What you’ll experience:

  • Layers of rock that don’t quite behave the way you’d expect

  • A mountain range with a story that sounds almost made up

  • The famous Lewis Overthrust (aka: the ups and downs of mountain building)

  • Scenic stops that make you go, “okay wow… that’s actually really cool”
